Richard Sweetman

Richard has just completed his first full season riding in the UK, having spent four months last year riding for then Premier League Team, Isle of Wight.

This year Richard has been riding for the Premier League team Birmingham Brummies and it has proven to be quite a successful year for both as Birmingham finished fourth in the League table and Richard achieved one of his goals of increasing his Rider’s average.

Other highlights have been riding in Elite League meetings for Swindon Robins and Bellevue Aces. He also has had success racing in some individual meetings in Poland.

Richard was also a member of the Australian team competing in the World Under 21’s semi final in Abensburg in Germany.

The Australian summer is almost here and Richard’s first meeting of the season will be competing in the NSW Under 21 Title Meeting at Tamworth which he won two years ago. His home club the NSW Speedway Riders’ Assoc will also be running a summer series at Gosford which will be very competitive!

Richard hopes to be competing in the Australian 3 Round Title Championship. His main goal for the summer will be success in the Australian Under 21 Title.
